Legal Year Opening 2013
The 2013 Legal Year church service was held at the St Mary's Catholic Church in Port Moresby on Monday 04th February 2013. Started at 9:30am and finished at 11:00am.
This is an ecumenical service to which representative of all church congregation and the public were also invited to attend. The service is for the Judges, Magistrates, Lawyers and legal professions, but members of the public were cordially invited.
The combined Defence Force, Police and CS Band led the Judges, Magistrates, and Lawyers from main road at Ela Beach Hotel to the St Mary's Catholic Church, Port Moresby.
Enhancing Supreme and National Court Services
The Judiciary is the third arm of the Government of the Independent State of Papua New Guinea. The high Courts of the Judiciary comprise the Supreme and National Courts whose core function is to hear and dispose of cases that come before them. Easy access to judicial services by the people at all levels of the community is one of the Judiciary’s main mission statements stated in the Judiciary’s Corporate Plan 2006 – 2010 and the Judiciary’s Corporate Plan 2011-2015. The Judiciary’s Corporate Plan is designed to operate within and to give effect to the governments planning priorities as set out in Vision 2050 and Medium Term Plans to bring effective service delivery to all levels of the community.

The PNG Judiciary site has been renewed and reopened.
The site has a lot of menus to show the PNG judiciary organisations, activities, events including the following functionalities.

Jobs at Court Interpreting Services
From time to time the interpreting Services hire services of persons, with competent knowledge of interpreting Principles and skills as well as posses the following;
- a fluent command of ENGLISH, PIDGIN or POLICE MOTU languages,
- and OR OTHER 800 plus language of Papua New Guinea,
- Languages such as Chinese, Bahasa, Indonesia, Korean, Malaysian or any foreign Language, and
- SIGN language
